Maybe Mo sprays with night vision goggles…

Have to have a lot of respect for you though, if I were spraying with that kind of light , I don’t even know if I’d be able to see the car well enough to get any paint on it, let alone get a great looking finish.

looks really nice!:rock after you finished blocking it and primed it again, what did you sand it with before you shot basecoat?
thanks fox, blocked with 180, then 400, then machined with 600. for the 2nd coat i used 600 grit dry on a soft interface pad, sprayed 2 coats base and sanded again but with 1200 grit wet, then 2 more coats of base. tried to limit any buffing on this thing because its a limo.
i was asking because it seems to have no orange peel! so im guessing the trick is to reduce the orange peel on the primer before you shoot basecoat?
when you sand your primer you won’t have orange peel. however if you put sealer on, you can overreduce it some to help with orange peel. reduce your base the right amount, and you can overreduce your clear some to help with it. you also need to make sure your gun is set up right too.

thanks guys, i know the lighting/booth etc all need to be addressed. shop lighting is just as bad. but thankfully, the job actually came out looking really good. i only cut and buffed some minor areas, didnt touch the hood!! you can almost shave in the reflection. i got a few pics which ill post soon of it assembled.

i ended up sanding the base because i had some trash and the first 2 coats were only a cheap ground coat (omni base). i used debeer base and usc clear.

Hey it looks awesome for what you had to work with, you should give yourself a pat on the back,I don’t think I could do half of the job you did with the lighting.I am really interested in Debeer products…I have heard nothing but good about them…thanks for sharing.:stoned

thanks jayson, ill get a better camera and take better pics. as far as debeer goes, ive only used the solvent base as for now. ive tried, sherwin, ppg, and dupont, and the debeer is really something else. it covers really good expect for reds?? but i think thats a problem with all brands, but its the consistency of honey.

i think this is a bad comparison but what i normally buy 3 quarts for with omni base i could mix only a quart of debeer and still have left over. compared to DBC, a quart DBC is a pint Debeer. Chromabase is just outa the comparison lol.

the price is great too. pints normally cost me 40 something. still want to try the clear but i dont have any high paying jobs as of yet so gotta stick with my cheapo USC :cheers
