Ok well this is what I started with oh so long ago

Being it was such a good runner and driver with good chrome I thought Oh this will be an easy one just clean it up a bit and Paint it as there really wasn’t any rust or all that much any ways I really was supprised about that now looking back. Now I am no Pro either as I have a real full time job as well so you have to remember that with my progress as well :smoke But I try :hunt and keep trying :wak But in the end this is really all I really want to do so I will keep hitting it redoing stuff till I get it right. I want to thank all of you for all the help you all have provided through many of my projects thus far you guys ROCK! :rock
Lots of other projects have gotten in the way of this one since starting it but now its really in the way as is another one and I am really trying to kick it out the door pics really aren’t in any particular order and there are more on my hard drive waiting to be up loaded. but are mostly to remind me of what goes were :S

I know you all have told me repeatedly to stay away from products like that one but this time I had it on the shelf and said why not? I really should be out in the shop spraying some Epoxy right now instead of posting this but I needed one more cup of coffee any ways  :pinch:

    Hi Jack
Just Primmer in some spots and Bondo in others. I Have no Idea why it did that.
When my Dad bought the thing about 7-8 years ago it was nice but it went down hill quick almost as fast as he did.

I shot it with 2 coats of Epoxy last night going to shoot Primmer on it today and Slick Sand in a few spots then start sanding more.

The sheetmetal looks great on that car.

    Thanks Bloverby

Well yesterday I put some Slick Sand or what ever its called on it and some primmer Ill give the thing a day or two too dry out real good before sanding may even let it sit out side in the sun for a while too.

Polyester primer is your friend bro.. I love poly primer these days.. Makes panels flat and straight like nothing else with minimal shrinkage

After mixing up a small batch & spraying it I wish I had done the whole car in it it went on smooth and thin I was afraid it would go on thick and sloppy

I told you bolting that gallon pressure pot to the top of your gravity feed was a bad idea…

No but seriously. How did you manage that? :S

    November 25, 2009 at 5:07 pm #17228

Well Rat lemme tell you it really wasn’t to hard to do really I just tried to get on top of that little orange work stand you see by the ford in those last few pictures.

Doc says when I was putting my weight on my hand at the same time as a slight twisting motion getting up on it is all it took evidently.
He also said it must have been Microscopically loose and bending during daily activities which work hardened the break area which he says explains about the pain I was trying to explain to him 3 days earlier.
If the plate is loose it cause pain.

This is my Third plate in two years my second being put in just a few months ago.
Hes now has the thickest strongest one available in there now and he put in as many screws as he could plus some In order to keep it from micro flexing.

I hope it works this time I am sooo sick of this

funny i just started a 41 caddy the other day. got it back from the blaster and got it in black epoxy. of course you cant get anything for the car so all the patch panels need to be hand made. most of the bottom of the car needs to be refabricated. the owner of the car only collected 41 caddys. he has around 100 of them. right now i am scheduled to do 3. we’ll see how many others he decides to do down the road.

    Wow Jim
Now thats a job I really want pics of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your going to do at least 3 for him thats fantastic There’s actually a lot of stuff around for old Cads just have too look and sniff around in the right places.

Try finding quarters for a 57 Chrysler 2 door original,
Not the elcheapo junk they sell on ebay.
