lild, :agree , if he was paying that kind of money I would cut the whole roof off and just put one in with t-tops in it aleady. I have no shingle, no license, no formal training and nobody knows me as an autobody person, so I pick up table scraps from the big dogs like you all, haha 👿 . There are still a couple soft spots and it could probably use some more metal work. We shall see?

July 20, 2011 at 5:13 am #31809I remember taking on things like this for the experience. 😛 But now i would not even consider doing something like that now. Much props to you for this undertaking. Looking good :cheers

Hey Matrix, I just put the first smear of evercoat all over the roof, man, that made a huge difference. Actually, it’s a slow time and I haven no quick bumper covers to do…so, my friend had a tree fall on it and I am doing it on the cheap (he doesn’t think so, but he went to a body shop and changed his mind, haha).
Thanks,
DocHello:
Day 9 and the roof is starting to look flat again. I assume this is taking me quite a long time, but I do have a full-time job. Here are a few pics:
Attachments:Today, we hit it for the first time with the in-line sander…man, I use to do this with a block and no air (can you say, shoulder workout). Anyway, here we go:
Attachments:Well guys, it’s day 15 and I just put epoxy primer on the roof from the pit of hell…no I will not do that again, gotta find a donor roof next time, haha.
Here we go:
Attachments:July 27, 2011 at 5:13 am #31913Nice progress,I would be tempted to use a good spray polyester on that project and board it out with 120,knock down the scratches with 180 and reprime with a urethane 2k primer.Good work :cheers
going to do that except urethan sealer. Thans, next time don’t let me do this, haha. You know for 15 days I looked for a donor car, there were none close to here, but anyway, he’s happy and I’m a little more better off financially. Now, to the jobs I like, little bumper collision next, haha.
