Now I thougt it was ready for primer, but they just sprayed the basecoat over the filler and sanded it…

Then two more layers of base.

    May 15, 2010 at 3:02 am #21265

well thats just crazy. but judging by the high quality newspaper, nice razor bladed mask job and the fact that they actually are wearing saddles instead of bare feet they probably got the big bucks :woohoo:

    May 15, 2010 at 3:17 am #21267

what the hell, ya gotta love that they even masked the license plates. :pcorn:

    May 15, 2010 at 3:21 am #21269

That’s pretty crazy stuff… Most people here would have drug that much damage out for at least a week. :lol1
Amazing how fast you can get stuff done when you’re paying by the hour to rent a booth. 😉

I’ll bet it took longer to mask that plate then it would have been to remove the two screws. :rofl

Cool pics Dag! I can’t believe they got that done in a day!

    May 15, 2010 at 6:53 am #21275

Ok, I’m going to guess that it was $400. The suspense is killing me :exci

    May 15, 2010 at 10:32 am #21278

So how did it look in person???

    May 15, 2010 at 5:06 pm #21279

    .

    Good job looks great

Thats what i like about this forum, nobody here is on their high horse nice and friendly.

If these pics were posted you know where, people would have plenty to say about all the masked items.

Looks good to me, keep on posting Dag great to see stuff from all over the globe.

The sheet metal guys asked $80 and the painter $120… It actually came out pretty good, some small hardly visible scratches and a single run that they sanded out this morning. I had to leave early so I never saw it outside in the sun. I never seen them put basecoat over filler before, you guys think it will stick? For the masking, there is nobody selling emblem glue or tape here and the numberplates are riveted in place so it’s too much work for them to remove and replace the rivets. As you can see they don’t have any real tools themself. I let the painter use my old W400 he didn’t even had a gun himself… He was complaining that it was using a lot of materials but he didn’t try to adjust anything. Next week there will come a PPG rep to hold some training courses so that will be good.

well they did pretty good for not having tools. the base coat will stick to the filler no problem but it will likely sink into the filler and be noticable very soon. how come the painter asked more than they body guys. they did more work. damn painters always thinking their worth more
