Alright, I’ve been using norton multiair for a few months now and its time to mix it up a bit… I got a shipment of 3M purple clean sanding discs to go at. I’ve had a bit of time so far and found them to blow away nortons multiair system which was pretty impressive itself. This paper is a dust-free system, but you can also use it on a regular D/A with a proper pad and get some extended life out of it.

The cool thing about this system is that it has a small filter on the end of it that the dust gets sucked into, it uses D/A’s that have a kinda fan in them to suck the dust up and blow it out using the air line, same as multiair. What makes it different is that it sucks it into a disposable filter that lasts around 2-3 weeks (depending on use), and you just toss the filter and slap on a new one. No messy bag to empty. The paper has an amazing life span, and we did a demonstration using multiair vs 3m clean sanding discs and found it to sand about 50% better. In 2 minutes we were able to remove about twice as much (320 grit).

So far I’m liking it, its about 2 cents / disc more than the 3M gold hookit discs & much, much better then them. Anyone else got a hold of these yet???
