My 3M rep came by the other day and didn’t like the looks of my norton dust-free system so he dropped off a pack of their brand new clean sanding discs, just P320. The discs have a bunch of holes for dust extraction and the design on them is efficient for both vac and non-vac systems. Although you do get better paper life with the vac, you can still get good life without them.
He informed me that the paper was laser cut unlike the Nortons so you don’t loose the few MM’s of abrasives around the holes as if they were machine cut.
On to how it performed,,,,,,,outstanding!! the life I got out of this paper far surpassed any others I’ve ever tried. It gives you that good cut you’d expect from 3M paper off the start, except unlike other 3M papers, this stuff lasts and gives you the same aggressive cut throughout the life of the paper.
You do need a different backup pad than the regular hook-it, I don’t know what the price of this stuff is yet so I’ll have to see if their playing ball before I order a few boxes.
September 16, 2008 at 5:14 am #11468i bet the price will put it all into perspective;) 😉 as goes with most 3m stuff nice but you pay a price whata ya wanna bet at least a buck a sheet:blink:
September 16, 2008 at 6:01 am #11470my sales rep was showing me that stuff today too. didnt leave a sample though. he was also showing me 3m was coming out with a bondo despensing cartridge gun. kinda like 2 part seam sealer. its automatically mixed in the tip. no ne to mix. just squirt on the panel and spread. he didnt have it in yet though. can’t wait to see the price on that:unsure: . thought rage extreme was expensive.

So instead of emptying a bag full of dust you just toss away a cartridge.
