Do to owner wanting more profit on materials ive been on it for a short time 80&180 da paper. Ummm i guess it cuts good without clogging too bad and wears ok. The down side would be the adhesive as it doesnt really adhere to the pad very good, even really clean new pads. I also have been trying sunmight paper which i think is a better product, especially their continuous roll paper. Keep in mind this is the coarser paper that weve been cheaping out on, nothing finer than 360 because these lines in fine paper are crap IMO.
Weve also been playing with cheaper fillers and i gotta say that i cant find any difference between evercoat products specifically zgrip + 416 metal glaze and keystones comparable fillers. Im convinced its the same stuff under generic labels no kidding, much cheaper too.pnlbtr4life wrote:

lol 40 dics can be lethal weapons when they go flying across the bodyshop when they refuse to stick to the backing pad.
AnonymousSeptember 19, 2009 at 4:24 pm #16038I have the purple ones, haven’t heard of red. Whats the deal with the reds?
September 19, 2009 at 4:52 pm #16039I have tried the 80,180, and 320. Not bad at all. I used the hookit version. It wears out quicker than the purple and gold but it still holds up pretty well. They have been selling it on special in my area for $10.21/ box for the 180-600 grits. It replaced their Crystal Bay line which was junk. It is definately worth what you pay for it, but I would probably stay away from the higher grits as pnlbr said. I haven’t used them but anytime you get a cheaper paper in 600 and up they usually suck.
September 19, 2009 at 5:34 pm #16040jimmo, the red line is their economy paper. i thought i would see what people thought of it. i know alot of companies, paint especially, like to make 1 product and just change the label. knowing 3m i thought it possible they took the gold made it red and dropped the price and called it a chepaer grade. something like they did with the green tape and made it yellow. i do agree with finer grits. 400 to me seems the cut off line. alot of companies have trouble with that grit and above. i think i will just stick with norton.
September 19, 2009 at 9:10 pm #16045I’ve been thinking about trying the 3M red next time I need some da paper.
Indasa da and continuous roll board sheets from 40-320 sucks.
I still like Mirka for mid priced paper from 40-320 da and contiuous roll board sheets ( I like the way it dispenses out of the box).
The Norton is nice too.
September 20, 2009 at 4:36 am #16051let me tell you indasa 400 and up sucks as well :rofl :rofl norton has always been good 600 and under and 3m good for 600 and over but now norton has got their dry ice and finishing film and they are now better than 3m in the finer grits so i find that norton is now pretty strong with a good product across the board.
