Hey guys so my jobber got me onto this 5 star primer filler/ sealer for a overall I was doing. figured I was getting more bang for my buck than a quart of ppg sealer. Everytime I’ve used it now ( one overall, 2 bumpers, and a few small areas with bare metal on one whole side of a car) after spraying the sealer and letting it flash and then trying to tack the areas with the sealer I cannot tack because they feel to rough so I usually even though this has happened a few times now go ahead and still put a coat of base and where I applied this sealer the metallics get screwed up by the roughness of this sealer and I end up waiting a half hour and scotch padding the sealered areas tacking and then go ahead with the rest of the base. I’ve used it only as the sealer, the label says 4-1-2 is the formula for the sealer so I’ve tried that plus I’ve tried over reducing to see if it would flow out less rough same result each time Anyone have any experience with this stuff?
August 2, 2014 at 10:33 pm #47102most any of those cheap dual purpose products usually blow when it comes ta using them as a sealer..my advice is just use a dedicated sealer from an economy line an skip the stuff that claims to do both…hope this helps :cheers
