AnonymousNovember 22, 2008 at 4:09 pm #11866I missed most of this thread, I’ll just say you can save yourself some good coin by taping everything off! Bumpers, trim, moldings, mirrors, etc….buttmatch, don’t prime, just seal…used car specials can be fun!
Sometimes I think a jobs worse off after my bodyman pulls a post! The one that came from Maaco.. He used to tell us when he’d get a heavy hit car, he’d just adjust the fenders and panels around instead of make the necessary pull. After hearing some of his stories and idea’s this doesn’t sound that bad, glad it seems to be working out for you now. That bondomerch is sometimes good for something.

November 23, 2008 at 4:07 pm #11870Lets see, I went to bed at 12:30.. it was my time to feed the baby so momma could get some rest.. I did not mind taking a break from the fumes though;) Got up at 4:30 this morning, but could not muster the energy to take myself to the garage until about 5:30:P
2k I shot last night has been sanded dry with 320, the wet 400 and then wet 1000.. Is that my normal procedure?? No, seem to have gotten carried away with the grits this morning,, Guess its the lack of sleep.. I remember in my early 20’s I would pull an all nighter all the time doing all overs.. then sleep about 4 hours the next morning and go right back out to the garage to finish up or just to continue to work.. Not sure what happened to that guy, but I aint got it in me anymore:blush: I pulled an all nighter twice 2 years ago and swore them off for good.. If only I were as young as Jimmo..
Anyways getting this thing to paint has been much slower than I thought, but I seem to forget when thinking about how long it will take me that I have a family in the house.. and whenever i go inside, it takes a good while to get back out.. I try to help out the wife as much as possible too.. She has allot on her plate everyday with these wild kido’s..
Here is one more pic.. just sanded 2k.. nothing to get excited about or anything;)

November 23, 2008 at 5:59 pm #11872on the home stretch now BK. should have it painted soon. little advise though for the future. not a good idea to prime right up to the tape. that hard line can come back to bite ya, even if you think its all feathered out. not that it really matters on this job.
looks like you’ll be smoking a blend too. don’t let the wife catch you;)November 23, 2008 at 6:01 pm #11873Bad freakin day fellas.. I dont know what crack they were smokin at the paint store the other day but them sumbitches gave me the wrong damn color for sure.. this aint even close.. I turned my Iwata LPH 400 up to 35 lbs with trigger pulled to see how much I could lighten it.. NO FLIPPIN WAY.. Check out how bad this color is off in these 2 pics.. So now I go back to work and this kid is going to have to wait a good while for his car now:(

Im sooooooooo pissed:evil: 👿 👿 👿 👿
November 23, 2008 at 9:15 pm #11874I gotta hand it to ya BK, looks like you pulled it off.
From the little bit I’ve read here, it certainly seems like you have a strong work ethic and family values, and I certainly respect that. I might have been a little harsh, but by golly it sure looked like you had your work cut out for you. Sounds like Bondomerchant gave ya some good input, I’ll work on trying to be more constructive and less critical.
Too bad about the color. Nothing worse than popping a can open at midnight, only to find out it’s the wrong color. Been there, done that.

November 24, 2008 at 12:54 am #11879I understand Jim.. Im thick skinned as it is;) , besides there is no room on forums to be sensitiveB) .. This has been an interesting job dealing with this guy.. He is a great kid, just not what i am accustomed to dealing with.. He went to photobucket and watched the video I had made and posted on here, and then called me very defensive about the windshield..I called him a “kid” in that video.. I remember when I was his age I would have not wanted to be called a kid.. lol lol lol Note to self, remove that video:laugh:

Already put the fender and paint in the expedition for her.. God love a woman who understands paintB) She will crack the whip when she gets there;)
