I don’t normally post my jobs on here, as the kind of work I do isn’t exactly the stuff you’d show off and be proud of, but after the comments in my last thread about how we manage to get through so much work, I thought I’d show you how.
Basically, we cheat! 😆
It’s all pretty minor stuff, nothing heavy like the jobs normally seen on this forum, but it pays the bills, and since I’m taking a rest from painting this week, here’s a selection of what I’ve been preparing today.
2009 Ford Focus with a bit of filler work on the rear bumper cover and above the rear door handle, blending the panel in between:

2007 Seat Ibiza – two bumper covers:

2009 Vauxhall Meriva – Key scratch down both doors. It’s a pig of a colour so we blended the full side.

2007 Ford C-MAX – Damage to rear bumper cover, rear side panel, and the door edge:

Another 2009 Vauxhall Meriva, this time with filler work to two panels:

And a 2010 Ford Fiesta which had two small dents. You can’t really see the repaired areas though due to the black primer:

So that’s the sort of thing we do here, as well as lots of front ends for stone chip damage. I’m ready and waiting for the shouts of “Hack!” 😆
Cheers,

Looks like a cool shop. Is it mostly used car work that is going on there? cant imagine its all insurance work. One of the local wholesale auctions here has a large bodyshop that tidys up cars before the salesFebruary 3, 2011 at 2:45 am #28008Thanks guys.
Yes Ding, we’re pretty much like you say – a large car retailer with around 600-700 cars on site. I run the bodyshop side, tidying the cars up ready for sale. No insurance or crash work, in fact no external work at all, just making the cars we buy in look mint for the potential customers.
I’m sure I’ve posted up some pictures of the shop on here before, but here’s a couple more:

February 3, 2011 at 3:08 am #28009Cool pics Andy! There is a chain here in town that does the same as your place. it still amazes me how fast you can get them done.
How do you typically prep them for paint?
Off topic, is the yellow Audi in your avatar your car??
Yeah, those darn Vauxhall colours always get me…I know Bondo has mastered those… :rofl
Looks like a great shop, big and clean/organized.
I worked in a place for a little while that did similar stuff. Wasn’t my favourite work, but it paid well and turnaround was super fast. Most jobs were in and out the same day.
