Hi guys, can I get some advise on fittings for the air distribution system fittings? Are there better fittings that the ones you get at Northern Tools or HD? The fittings that I use (Northern Tools) do not last very long they are always leaking. I know my system is tight, I ran Freon through it and check it with a leak detector, the only leaks are at the couplers. Any help?

Look for Prevost fittings. They will be blue with a green button. They work great and last forever.

I’ve been dying to try Prevost fittings.

Parker is also TOP notch. great stuff.

Industrial E is the highest-flow of any of the typical fitting styles. Prevost, and some others, are propreitary, so once you switch there’s no other options. Not that you’d want any……

I was checking the prices on the Prevost, way out of my league, they go from $17.00 to $25.00 a peice.

i built a new shop and also looked at the Prevost system but it was very expensive

it was going to cost around $5000 in your money to pipe out my shop, that was just for the pipework alone

How much do the cheap ones cost? If you can buy a Prevost and it lasts 5 years vs $5-6 for a cheap one and it lasts 6 months are you really saving? I have used Prevost fittings for over 6 years here and have yet to replace one. They get dropped after every use too.

Better not be dropping the hose on the floor.

    Punishable by death…………

traditional pipework will last till the end of time , well almost 😉

I was in a shop just before christmas, i used to work there 22years ago and it still has the same traditional pipework installed from when i worked there. had a few bits added on, but the main ring ring is still there with the drops into the bays i worked in.

this is the pipe work i installed recently in my new shop
