Using Sata 3000 hvlp fir base and 3000rp for clear now. My friend who manages a bigger body shop in SC told me about the tekna and said he and several others have sprayed with both and they the tekna is like a magic wand compared to the satas.
Any input is appreciated!
That’s kinda like the hole ford vs Chevy thing its a personal preference both companies make quality products painting is like guitar playing Eddie vanhalen sounds like Eddie no matter what he plays if you can paint you can paint with any quality gun there are no magic wands so if you like sata stick with them but there’s also nothing wrong
with teknaNo some guns spray some clears better than others and just because there shop calls it a magic wand doesn’t mean you will but if your looking for someone to tell you how to spend your money go ahead buy one and your world will be perfect or demo one and compare it to your sata using same products through it :deadhorse :clappy
My personal experience with the Tekna prolite is that the 202 aircap and 1.4 set up was considerably slower than a sata rp3000 with a 1.3 . The 7e7 aircap with a 1.4 in the Tekna sped things up a lot however I think on a thicker viscosity clear it is still slower than a rp. The price point is attractive and you can obtain them with either a 1.2 1.3 setup or a 1.3 1.4. Depending on what you’re spraying the prolite is also teflon coated inside.
Im using a 1.2 now with the RP for clear so im sure that is some of it.. But the dang nozzle set for these things is about 3/4 the price of the TEKNA so im very tempted to try it out. Its good to hear the aircap sped things up a lot. Do you know if the 202 & 7e7 are comparable to the TE10 and TE20 that come with the kits today?
