Wow. 3 1/2 minutes to spray a roof. damn clear would be dust free by the time you got done with one coat on the whole car
the nobs dropping off was acording to our Iwata rep an issue created by waterbased thinners it has been addressed withe the EVO version of the Supernova ,to increase aplication speeds tweak the fan down slightly
the new Bellaria is supposed to be the gun for those who want the supernova performance without the cost and much cheaper to service
April 12, 2013 at 5:35 pm #42790I http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuZUQHlXmYo I dont think thats a very good display of that gun’s speed but it’s very entertaining. :pcorn: Here’s one I did yesterday with the ws400 hd 1.3 using standox 16252 1.5 coats @27psi.The video quality is not the greatest but sort of shows what this gun can do I guess.
April 12, 2013 at 9:52 pm #42792
Check this video out, you can see the speed he is spraying with a WS400 1.3hd
WTF? I think he needs to clean his gun. It appears that the fluid tip is blocked up, or he’s screwed the control knob right in!!! If mine were that slow I’d have thrown it away long ago 😆To give you an idea, in a direct comparison of the WS400 and 4000 RP, using the same product in the same conditions on similar jobs, the original 1.3 Clear tip on the Iwata was about the same speed as a 1.2RP. The Iwata 1.3HD was faster than both. As artspray says you can narrow the fan a bit if you want to speed it up a bit more as it’s very wide at full. I also spray much closer than the guy in that video. About the same as Diambert at most.
April 12, 2013 at 10:12 pm #42793My hand has used to spray with sata rp. But in most of the time,I got cleaner job with iwata,it’s why I want one iwata for clear.so Andy u think the hybrid one is better which is ls400hb?
April 13, 2013 at 12:36 am #42794I have 2 LS400 Supernovas. One with the gold cap and the other with the silver cap. Love both. I use the gold cap for waterbourne and it sprays great. Wide spray for overlap is great. Use the silver cap for clear. Lays the clear down like glass.
April 14, 2013 at 3:13 am #42801thx everybody! i will make order ws400hd monday from our supplier, cant wait!!!!
April 14, 2013 at 3:39 am #42802One last thing,I would DEFINATELY demo a gun before I dropped $600 on a gun I have never used. You might also want to demo a 4000RP.Keep in mind tip size can change a gun and not all guns spray the same,a 1.3 in an iwata is like a 1.2 in a sata for example.
April 14, 2013 at 5:51 am #42803I demoed the nova LS 1.3. I really loved it but it was a touch slow. Then demoed a 4000rp 1.3. It was faster and 100.00 cheaper so I went with it. Everyday I regret that dicision. I get much better jobs with my old lph400 1.4. I hardly use the rp and mostly use the LPH.
April 14, 2013 at 6:20 am #42804Well everybody is different but you can’t blame a gun for dirty jobs due to increased air pressure. If that was true nobody would have been able to get a clean job with the old conventional guns that operate at 50+psi.I am from that era of high pressure guns and did not have problems getting a clean job,the 10 psi difference between an rp and lph is minimal :pcorn:
I use a w-400 once and awhile and find it slow ,couldn’t imagine using an LPH but if it works for ya thats all that matters.April 15, 2013 at 3:08 am #42814I can think of one good reason, parts availability and its very hard to find somebody who sells geo walcom guns on this side of the pond.
