2 things, every other color in this system I spray is different from the color chip I pick? PPG swears they spray their chips with the same system. If thats the case could PPG be making chips out of the factory pack toners?

2nd question anybody have trouble tinting the yellow side tone out of red pearls. Almost every red pearl has the same issue. The common denominator in most of these formulas is the chroma toner p210 8979 strong maroon. Ordered the clean maroon p210 8977, this doesn’t come as part of the standard toners but an add on, to see what results this yields.

I can usually tint it out with claret or magenta and midnight black.

I use aquabase aka Nexa. I have been having great success with color matches with this system. PPG offers an Eye for Color training program at all there training facilities , would be as great benefit if you already havent attended one. FYI High chromatic toners are used in limited use. 144 color formulations. And if you check it will be in a special. The spray outs done by PPG have to be the OEM formula used on cars. If you want to see the toner or factory pack sprayed out you would have received a tinting chart and deck with your setup. It showed the toners sprayed as they are than cut with white and black toner.

maybe I am being to particular about my color matches? Went to the color adjustment class. It was very intuitive. I had instant success. However there are some traits with this system that are annoying more than anything. Usually reds never match the side tone, always to yellow..

I’m using ppg right now. And I’m really happy with the color matching! It’s 99% match the chip, but some color there is no chip matching the car lol.

Check under the Special Formulas and do a sprayout, your match will be there :rock
