Does anyone have a problem with auto writer markers staining or not washing off completely when refinishing

say a pearl white or leaving ghost shadows on blacks ?

seams like a non value added operation to me !

I recently painted a pearl white bumper 077 , spot paint full clear , and someone used a yellow marker to not a previous chip ,

and it stained it down to the base , cool , not !

The only time I had a problem was when I marked a black truck after wetsanding with the white. My prepper said truck ready to spray I looked down the side and saw about 5 things he missed so I marked the spots. Anywhere I had marked even though I rewetsand and degreese when I cleared you could see the marks. Couldn’t see b4 clear though. Never had an issue though if car hadn’t been sanded already.

A lot of times I see these yellow marking with salvage parts. Circled dents etc. Part number written on it. Make sure to wipe it off with a thinner before starting repair. Wax and grease remover won’t touch it. And ten coats of paint won’t hide it! Hope this helps. I have ran into problems with pdr markers on self healing clear coats also. Ie nissan infinity. Dont let anything like that bake in the sun!
