hey guys im looking for some input on guns…our shop is about to pick up a second paint system being the u-tech 3.5 line to spray fleets .i have very little experience spraying polyurethane ..what would the ideal gun be??
If you are doing bigger jobs/completes a pressure pot would be ideal. Otherwise, for the smaller jobs a good automotive paint gun is fine (like a SATA RP). Choose the gun and match it with the product. Although I would believe the u-tech is probably best with a 1.4-1.8 tip.
August 22, 2012 at 3:11 am #37977I have been spraying Utech for over 10 years on a daily basis on big trucks cars or whatever. For 3.5 it likes a sata rp 1.4 and sprays really nice and effortless. If you have any questions about the different accelerators and how to spray it PM me and I can help you out.If you are in a non regulated area 3.8 would be a better choice, its not as finicky as 3.5.Check out polybase as well,it mixes off the same bench you just have to add a different binder to make it a base coat.
