Blending Clearcoat

    What is the proper method of doing this? currently I just scotch pad with a 3m gold pad.

    I assume your referring to the preperation, I beleive the proper way is sand where your clearing to with 1500-3000 & where you anticipe your blender polish with coarse compound.

    there are many ways to do a good blend. I use grey scotch brite, apply little bit of compound between the scuffed area and the shiny area. Then I would just mist my fade out thinner or blending solvent on the compounded area. When it’s cured I’d buff that area with swirl remover or glaze. I’ve done this so many times and never had problems. 🙂

    There is no good method for doing a good clear blend that will last. It’s going to fail eventually.
