    Hi

Anybody got any good advice or tips for painting candy colours

I have a total re-paint on a small car sparkling silver with a dark red candy over the top, never painted candy before.

Data sheet suggests painting the side’s in one continous pass front to back instead of conventual panel at a time, this is to avoid build on panel edges leading to dark patches.

how many coats of candy i want a high sparkle from the ground coat, this would lead me to think less candy is better maybe 2 coats maxium 3

    this is the colour

thats a deep color. probably 5 coats on that but best to do a spray panel. and yes you want to do the whole side. about 75% overlap for the first few coats. than you can get away with 50% on the last 2. its not unlike spraying a pearl. you have to be consistant. like a robot when spraying it. not a lot of rrom for error cause its tough to repair. if your base isn’t sparkly enough just use a courser metallic in it

i just noticed a special note on the data sheet suggest’s putting a yellow pearl in the candy at a mix of 8-1 that being one part pearl lol

this is supposed to make the candy coats more controlable and less prone to patching, what do you think??

Bro do as suggested above.. Charge much much much more than you think.. The gig with a candy is this.. you wont be blending some F’d up spot.. No sir, you will be re basing the whole fuk’n thing and then starting over.. dirt is another issue with candy.. THey make dark specs.. Oh yeah,, cant have those either.. To do a good job in my opinion, it all needs to be shot at the same time.. All of it.. including jambs.. Best of luck to you.. and wipe the idea of fixing spots if you have them.. Just fuk’n wipe that idea right out of your head.. and understand, you will be sanding, re basing and starting over with the candy.. Oh yeah and lets not forget the need for fresh paper after all of this.. Candy is beautiful.. Cant beat the look, but you will spend 3 times as much as you think to get it done correctly..

Just my opinion.. although I think my opinion is correct:laugh: 👿 👿
