Here’s one of my hack jobs. I know I did a bit of a tough blend with the clear on the top, what do you guys normally do? would anyone actually do an up and over on this?

btw Han, i switched my spraying style when clearing to walk the entire side rather then do sections and I’ve gotta say I’ve noticed the jobs are coming out a lot cleaner, I guess less air flying around wildly to stir things up.

That blend is gonna suck to polish nice. :X probably could have done the roof and smoked in the other sail panel. Or you could have done the doors off the car and not had to worry about clearing the doors and quarter at the same time. would have allowed you to do the blend on the sail.

I did like watching that piece of plastic on the rear door glass hole blow in every time you went by with the gun 😛 . What did you use for the clear on that jimmo

I used the BASF unreleased clear, can’t remember all the numbers. The blend doesn’t look as bad as it might have but ya polishing it will still suck.

never thought about that (taking the doors off), where were ya earlier?

Unless you replaced the rear door or did repairs to the narrow part of the door that wraps around the window/trim, you could have just blended the sail and the narrow part of the rear door at the same time.

tough to tape up the roof for a sail panel blend when you have to spray the top of the doors as well. pulling the doors is pretty easy. especially since he had to change them 😉 not that hard to edge and do the outside of the doors at the same time either when he changed them. and if he had any work to do on the rocker or post he could have done all the jambing and 1/4 painting at the same time.

most of the roof was backmasked off the small style line or else I wouldn’t have attempted that. the stye line starts a few inches in from the sail and goes to the windsheild.

Yeah, if you changed the doors you might as well have shot them inside and out and the quarter all at once……DING style 😛 😛 😛 😛
