i think the brand was dyna clear coat, ill have to check the tin to get a more correct description.but from what i remember it was a gloss clear coat.standard stuff.
if it’s the dynatone clear, i’ve had the same problem with their high build surfacer primer as well. it would lift and wouldn’t bond well. I’ve never had experience with their clear but i would be contemplating trying other products from them….
There are allot of things that could cause the clear to die back.. Maybe I missed it but no one seemed to touch on the primer that was used and how the job was done so I will ask..
1. How many coats of primer? Was it sanded.. How long between when it was sprayed and base shot.
2. What type of base was shot? How many coats of base.. How much flash between each coat.
3. How long did base flash off before applying clear?
4. How much flash time per coat was given on the clear?
5. How many coats of clear?
Oh yeah.. Hi all 😛
If you painted it with a small compressor that ran most of the
time then I know what your problem is-moisture.
If the compressor got hot and the air isn’t cooled down
before reaching the gun then you put a lot of moisture into your clear.
No trap can remove it if the air isn’t cooled down first.
No matter what clear or gun you use.
