I’m curious on what You guy s do to keep your clear warm through the cold weather months? My mixing room stays pretty cold since the exhaust fan seems to suck out any warmth I might have. I noticed when it started getting cold my clear wouldn’t lay down good at all, when I started paying more attention to it i noticed when I poured my clear through the strainer into my cup it was pretty thick. So to keep my clear warm I bought a crock pot, fill it about half full of water and stick my gallon of clear in it first thing in the morning. warm clear sprays very nice!:rock What does everyone else do to keep there clear warm?
January 21, 2011 at 8:08 pm #27503I just spray mine thick and curdled. Bondo(the real pro on the site) taught me how to adjust the gun to compensate. 😆
My mixing room stays warm enough but at other shops I would fill up a bucket of hot water and set the clear and hardener in there for 10 minutes and it would do the trick. Crock pot is a good idea though. They also make rubber heating pads that I bet would work good. Can’t remember where I saw them at though.

woud’nt say it could cause fish eye maybe more orange peel as its thicker !!
i usually open the lid and sit it on the heater/rad for a good 20mins works great !
Now most tds say spray at 22 deg booth temp dep on hardner but what about the actual product ? dose that have to be at a similar temp ? any tec sheet tell you that ?

Only if Nex is using it :rofl :rofl :roflJanuary 22, 2011 at 4:35 pm #27525I have a box that I made up that will hold clear & hardner, or my body filler depending on what Im using it is insulated with a light bulb to keep at about 75 deg. It will also slide up on one side so I can but a small electric heater on one end to warm it up fast if I forget to leave the bulb on.
January 22, 2011 at 8:49 pm #27534Jay also says the Napa clear is like piss water so if it thickens up from the cold it will spray like one of those really high end high solids clears
