Previously I have used the Nason 496 &497 clears. They seem pretty decent and very inexpensive, and they have given good lasting results. Lesonal Pro Air is awesome, but more of a mid-range product.
X2, 496-00 perfect for small jobs (4-1) it cost me $68.00 a Gallon, 497-00 for full car (3-1) same price, no problem with gloss

Shopline JC60 made by PPG is $13.00 a sprayable quart. Not a bad clear.

^^^^i was told by jobers to put @ least 5 coats of it on. No protection. Did a jeep a few yrs ago, looks real nice, flows well. Jeep seems to hold up so far. @ times u can get A 75 bucks kit. I like omnis mc161 clear. Don’t remember the price for it, looks every bit as good as ppgs topself clear.
Come to think about it, i have done a few other jobs with the shop line clear. So far they haven’t came back either, or they got sold.

personally, i’m not a big fan of transtar products. I don’t know if you have a kemperle near you, but they sell a clear by HB Body. It’s actually imported from greece and its very inexpensive. I painted a car with it, never polished it, then sent the car to florida. Five years later, in the florida sun it still looks like the day I sprayed it. I think the clear comes out to about 140 dollars a setup, but its a 5 liter and 2.5 liter of hardener. So for 140 dollars you’re getting 7.5 liters of clear unreduced.

Another decent inexpensive clear is pretty much all the clears by U-pol, which i believe is imported from england.

Personally, I have tried PPG clears and unless u go to the real hi$$$ to me they are not as good as DuPont 496-00 4:1 mix is excellent flow and lays like glass only $64.00 a gallon and 1/4 of catalyst. The 497-00 is 3:1 multi-panels at $68.00 a gallon and 1/4 catalyst. I am in south Florida and they don’t fade on the sun. I am not a pro, but this is what I use

Hands down the Nason 456-00 is way better than 496-00 or 497-00.

I agree, but more expensive, 496-00 or 497=00 work for me

The best bang for the buck probably even just has good has some top line clears is am tech 4200 from pro spray cost around 125 kit which is 7.5 liter total
