Not my work. Just polishing a scratch… Kinda neat. Looks very easy to do also.

He did say that he did not do it…
He’s just polishing a scratch.

Sort of neat. Wonder what he abraded it with?

looks like he used 80 grit 3″ discs. It’s been cleared for sometime now. The guy
bought this (as is) and a bunch of other “stuff” for $300 bucks. Killer deal.

Infortunately, i wasn’t able to “remove” the scratch. Too deep…

How’d he know there was a scratch? 😉

Looks like it was scuffed with a wire cup brush to me.

At SEMA years ago, Ford had a Super Duty with aluminum panels bonded to the sides. a majority of the panel was sanded with a DA. They then changed to an orbital device, and added flames by freehand grinding, then cleared. It was a nice effect.

its a pretty common effect that they have been doing for years. its done on both aluminum and steel tanks. i have seen sign shops doing it more and more on aluminum signs, decorations and about everything else. just about every casino here in AC has it all over the inside. it looks really good with a candy over it and worked into some graphics. the effect is usually done with a grinder and a scotchbrite disc. surprisingly enough clearcoat bonds really well to the bare grinded metals.
