clearing over single stage

    Anybody have experience with this . Its guna be a urethane ss, the project is a 98 Tahoe and I’m looking for the deepest look I can get with black.

    In the second or thirth coat of color mix 15% of clear then apply another 1 or 2 coats of clear over the total , take care of decent flash times , like 20 or 30 minutes between coats and there should be no problems.

    I love the way a properly done black single stage job looks :dnc , They can look good cleared over to as well. I know with Standox ther blackest black is in a single stage but they also have a basecoat (factory black) called “deep black” I have used it and it is a sweet color, really deep and no yellow brown to it more of a deep dark blue black very dark and briliant :dnc

    What I do is use usually medium Hardener and medium reducer with the ss then use slow slow on the clear basically just use a slower hardener in the clear then the ss. Also Helps if use ss and clear that use the same hardener

    I’ve done two tri stage pearl white cars now with ss both came out pretty damn nice
