I will help anybody needing help with “Axalta” water.. Just seems everytime it always gets imto a debate over paint companies… Jmo…
Like I said before, they all work, just depends on the conditions & support you recieve.. I dont claim to know it all, But a lot of times I can get guys out of a tight spot because I’ve been there myself or know somebody that has..Sorry if this offends anybody…
December 15, 2013 at 5:26 am #45672Debates are good IMO it keeps things real, sometimes reps get a little too sale happy and don’t deliver facts with sales pitches.Nobody is going to kick anyone in the balls for technical advice.I agree that all brands will work but some are better than others. Why not give a detailed explanation of what products and techniques to use?Like I said there are others that could use the info…….
December 15, 2013 at 9:40 pm #45677I agree with jay. There is a difference between giving solid technical advice on a particular product and saying something like “X product is hands down the best out there” and then giving false advice about a competing product to make the prefered one look better.
That is just dumb and nothing more than a sales pitch. Problems can be found in all systems, some more than others.
AnonymousDecember 15, 2013 at 9:56 pm #45678When I sprayed it I would lay down the blender at the beginning only and blend into it while wet, first coat wet & second coat immediately after, a bit dryer from an increased distance taking it out a bit further. Halo’s weren’t a large issue for me unless blending dry. Sometimes on a bad color match it would be tougher to blend because the paint is so opaque. As long as everything is landing wet I don’t know that I would look towards the controller.
I used Cromax 4+ years ago when first switching to waterbourne. I really liked it at the time, but since then I’ve used a few other brands which has swayed my opinion. I’m not sure that I would want to go back now that I’ve seen what else is out there.
Jimmo gave great advice on the blends. That’s the same method I used with good results. 3 stage and large jobs were sprayed different than conventionally, but it did work. I think using the spectrophotometer is almost a requirement for matching certain colours, but I’ve heard the matching has gotten a lot better since I’ve used it.
