2021 is the only ppg clear I liked, global 894 was ok but nothing special IMO,I won’t comment on dc 2000 heard enough reviews tho 😛 The enviro base clears EC700 and 750 are total garbage not user friendly at all.Why do you say it is expensive?our cost on a Litre/quart sprayable of 250 is $65 and it goes further than any other clear I have used, initial cost might be more but you use less.Anyway everyone is different and maybe it sprays different in your booth, what gun are you using?(energy pro blows in my opinion 😛 )
I’m Using a Sata 4000 RP with a 1.3 head I love this gun for clear the cost I can’t remember the cost for my shop but I want to say for a set up was close to 600 or 700 but that’s without any discount It could also be our jobber jacking up the price but i think it was around that price
September 28, 2012 at 4:25 am #38418I never cared for the 1.3 in the 4000 ,had much better luck with the 1.4,it sprays superior better IMO.
Uh….2002 and 2021 are the only clears that you can use to compare ppg with any other brand. All others are of poor quality. They will all die back and lose their gloss ……period. To argue this fact is crazy. If you like buffing for gloss use ppg…..i did for 20 years…Even ppg instructors admitt that. If there truthfull to you. Sorry painter dont sit there and say how great global is between 40 and 50 solids, and wont retain a gloss, compared to 250 thats around 70% and stays glossy.Ppg stands for poor paint gloss 😛 Again Sorry just had too vent. I hate ppg and will never go back.
No vent all u want I just like hearing what other painters like and don’t like but I still can’t get the hang of the Cromax it’s coming around slowly but it’s been 9 goin on 10 months and no change I sprayed a 3 stage today and it took damn near 3 hours and all it was was paint the fender front door rear door and blend the hood and quarter and a bumper I hate it an I’m using so much more paint then I did with solvent paint
I demoed spies and standox, didnt do a tri coat. It seemed weird that spies wants you to spray it one way with and rp. Standox another with hvlp. But they both said they are the same basically.Colors did seem a little off but thought it was me learning the product. They said how fast it was, but it took so long to dry compared to autowave. I could put on five coats of aw before they even flashed once. This was with there rep painting with me. Is this the reason it took you so long with the tri coat?
