I believe it was AutoAir if I remember right.
And if it drys so fast, why do you need to put air dryers on it? I dont have to do that with solvents.
Auto air is a hobby paint for airbrush artists. Nothing at all like automotive waterborne paint. :wak
February 7, 2013 at 4:48 am #41133Auto air is no comparison to enviro or sikkens autowave. The portable blowers help remove the water from the painteven if I don’t use them in my booth it still flashes faster than solvent. When using blowers one coat will flash in 90 seconds, much faster than your 10-15 mins per coat of solvent base.I sprayed solvent for over 20 years I know how it works…
February 7, 2013 at 4:49 am #41134Agreed, but I have to believe dry times are similar. But if will please the court, I would be more than happy to go get a quart of waterbased paint and a quart of solvent based and run a test if this needs to be beat to death. Fact is, water is slower than solvent.
February 7, 2013 at 4:53 am #41136Fact is you don’t know what you are talking about, evident by you coming here to ask questions then argue get a clue :wak

Bold statement from a guy asking the most basic paint related questions. You doing a test would not be accurate at all. Spray water is completely different than spraying solvent. Unless you learn how to properly use the product it is pointless. you really should educate yourself better before making statements about things you know nothing ofFebruary 7, 2013 at 5:02 am #41140Ok, I guess I will do a test and we will see. If im wrong I will gladly eat crow. I can get PPG or Dupont. Which would you prefer?
February 7, 2013 at 5:04 am #41142Ok, thats a good point, I dont know how to spray water. There is a bodyshop right next to ours and they spray water. I will have one of those guys do it. That way the test isnt biased.
February 7, 2013 at 5:10 am #41143cause certainly you or the guys next door doing a test will convince those who actually have extensive experience spraying both solvent and water in a production environment……… :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl
:ban?February 7, 2013 at 5:16 am #41145
Dont bother banning me. I will leave on my own
We cant ban you anywaysFebruary 7, 2013 at 5:33 am #41146What are you trying to prove? The guys here that use water don’t know what their talking about?????? :wak
I use water, and most of the time I don’t use blowers. Typically I let 3 minutes flash between coats…a little longer for some jobs depending on how I have things set up in the booth which affects the air movement. But nothing takes more than 5 minutes. I can honestly say, that in my opinion, water is faster than solvent most if not all of the time.
Not pushing products, but Sherwin Williams claims you can go from prime to shine in 40 minutes…it some instances that is definitely true.
