I am restoring a 1955 Chevy Truck for a customer and he has givem me the paint chip code for Diamont MR.368.30. I cannot seem to cross reference it anywhere. Does anyone know if this is a bad code or if not where I can get cross reference information to mix in my system.

Its a code directly off of the ColorMax 2/3 paint chips, should be a metallic red. It would go into the BASF lookup system as MR368.30 I don’t know how you would go about cross referencing it to your system (What is your system?) You could order it in BASF supplying that number.

I have a UTEC system. Thanks for the info. I will call the UTEC support line and they should be able to cross reference with the information you provided.

I called BASF tech line the other day with a number like that. They could not cross reference it with a OEM paint code..
I know they have in the past. My guy must have been “busy”

The only way you will get a formula for the basf chip in utech is “IF” it is big enough to get a camera shot with an akzo camera so it can give you a formula or color map location. The only other option is to look at the akzo color map book and find something close, there will be no cross reference for another companies variant decks.
