also as far as I know the Norton Cups are just Relabled Gerson Cups
I use the 3m PPS liners. They work very well. Being in a production shop I go through an obscene amount though lol. There is a different style for waterborne paints, the lid has a higher micron filter. I’ve found that storing Spies Hecker basecoat you can save some money by leaving lid and cap on and storing cup upside down so the filter stays saturated with the paint. As long as it’s not activated it will be reusable for a while.
I just switched from Sata RPS to 3m PPS.
I prefer the Sata cups. It is a solid cup to store extra paint in. Pressure relief button,so paint doesnt ooze all over after shaking like 3M cups. Not as messy when refilling. The paint seems to flow better having the presssuer relief button. With 3M ,I do like that smaller sizes are available.
I just got a few Devilbiss Dekups to try out. They are somewhat similar in design to the 3M, but definitely not as good of a design. I found them kind of cumbersome, not as quick or easy to assemble. The one improvement over the 3m is that on the hard plastic outter cup the ring/lid doesn’t have normal thread, so it shouldn’t gunk up easy and not screw on too loose. It does work, and provided the price is much lower than the others, then it could be a good choice for some shops.
I don’t know what the cost is, but I would recommend the RPS or PPS cups over the DeKup system.
i can buy 1000 plastic mixing cups for about £90 delivered ,made by Dolphin plastics and exactly the same cup as they brand up for Devilbiss but without the devilbiss name embosed on the bottom ,1000 strainers are about £43 delivered ,good cleaning practices like wiping the cup clean before using thinners helps cut costs so overall i cant see much advantage in using a disposable system, maybe if the chinese start making a cheap system i may convert but at present i think they are mostly overpriced and overestimated for time saved
