I am an engineer in China working on an electrical vehicle project. I have been tasked to set up a factory for prototype and eventual production. The challenge is that everything must be sourced local or at least here on the mainland. So whenever I need something in the way of equipment, I have to really look at the fundamental thing I want to accomplish. Take for instance welding. I purchased a great machine, 250 amp- igbt inverters, etc for a great price. However, everything is in Chinese language! So I translate all the character labels and start trial and erroring. So far so good, the machine is as good as anything I have used in the states. Now comes the painting bit. The only American spray gun I have found here is a Devilbiss from about 10 years ago. So I am in the process of narrowing down a few Chinese made guns that look at least professionally made. They also seem to be cheap enough, so I will try several. So I have been re-educating myself as to the different performance characteristics to evaluate in testing these things. Ideas anyone?
