    Hi everyone,

I’m Scott, a 31 year old paint sprayer from the UK.

I started in the refinish trade, at the age of 17, working on cars at a Rover and Hyundai dealership bodyshop where I was learning all aspects of refinish, repair, strip and fit, prep, paint and polish etc.

My next job was at an independent car bodyshop doing some repair work, strip and fitting but mostly prepping, painting and polishing.

I then moved into the world of Commercial vehicles by getting a job at a Scania dealership bodyshop as a truck painter. At times getting involved in repair, strip and fit but mostly prep, paint and polish.

My current job is working for Glasurit as a technical rep for the UK Commercial vehicle team.

Welcome! Love Glasurit, but you guys need to loosen up and give away more belt buckles, tee shirts and hats.

Oh dear! It sounds like you’re having it as rough over there as we are when it comes to freebies!

I have a pen or two kicking about but no t’s, hats, belt buckles and the like either I’m afraid!

To this day I only have one Glasurit T’shirt, one jacket and a few shirts to my name and I work for them!!

So are there many truck painters on here or is it mainly car painters?

Hi Scott, glad to have you here. I love picking up BASF tips where I can, I currently use RM diamont with Glasurit clears. The site consists mostly of car painters as far as I know. Up in my area (Ontario, Canada) our BASF rep has to do both commercial and automotive divisions. How much do you find them to differ?
