Just wondering if anyone has experience with this kind of thing. We’ve got a 94 BMW a customer dropped off with some hinges and wants installed. The price is negotiable so if anyone has an idea of the install process it can help us determine. It seems the hinges get attached under the fender and swing out a bit then up. The fender looks like it needs to be modified also to allow this access. What am i getting myself into?

and to top it off the hinges weld on, not bolt.

Yeah dont mess with them.. I have installed atleast 25 of those kits, they dont hold up.. Yhey will always be coming back for adjustments, and once you install them its hard to go back to stock.. You have to cut the hinges on the Bmw doors, so the doors will have to be replaced to go back.. We did a 3 series about 5 years ago and last year he went back to stock cost him 3500. He wishes he would of never installed them. I would personally walk away from this job.. Will turn into more headaches.

I got talked into a few of those before. If I remember correctly the sets I did were weld on kits even though the factory doors were bolt on.

That’s one of those things where I’d have to know the customer really well before I’d agree to do it.

You’re asking for trouble if it’s just some random walk in customer.

    Probably best to walk away.

well just like anything there are companies making junk and companies making decent stuff but all are a little finicky. a friend of mine frequently installs them on newer vettes and the ones he uses are awesome. installs in no time and they hold up really well with no issues. took very little to install them. he can do a set in 4 hours or less. i know there are others though that are nothing but a nighmare. not that i can really tell by the pics but it looks like the ones you got there are very generic or lower end.
