It’s a hit and miss with either base. But mostly hits. The Nomix covers well and color generally good.
The Limco Supreme, which i don’t use much, can be either very good or just crap. But the BASF color chips
are very good to choose from which Transtar Nomix doesn’t have.

*Mothers Reflections Advanced Car Wax for the rest of the surfaces. Meguiars All Season Dressing
for the tires and wheel wells. For added bling bling.

Lookin pretty slick, like the look of that polishing pad. Toyota colors I’ve always found among the trickier ones, especially for spot repair! But at least the guys at the color labs have a sense of humor, I always chuckle when I come across 4Q2

looks like some pretty steaky jobs there han 😉

Majority of the jobs this year has been more meaty and customer pay. Last year was terrible, guess they were
waiting for their cars to get more banged up.

These wool pads are seriously good: http://micro-surface.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=58&zenid=1cf5753cdea025004610da6f4eb75f10

But you’ll want a foamed backing plate: http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-solo-easy-buff-w66-rotary-backing-plate-6-inch.html

Han, I have 2 gal of the 2020 that I have never been able to get to shoot well. Maybe I am not reducing it enough. I would love to use it since it is so inexpensive. How much are you reducing the primer to use as a sealer? Projects look great! I need to find a jobber that can set me up with a NO-Mix sample.

    Thanks fellas!

    Kent,

Try reducing the Euro 2020 4:1:1.5 or 4:1:2 and maybe just 4:1 for one coat deals. The 2K i reduce around 20%

With base, it comes down to the person mixing it regardless of brand. Hope you find a good source as i have.
I no longer do enough volume to justify getting a system in. Well, i do now, but last year was so traumatic,
i’m holding off. I’ve been scared straight! But i digress…

Get these wool pads. I’ve tried so many and thought they’re all more or less the same. Wrong…

    Looks good to me!

Might have to try those wool pads.
The price looks right to me.

Thats some nice work you do Han!

Don’t forget it’s not about how much work you do it’s about how much you make off of the work you do. you seem to have the quality down it just takes time to build up a customer base.

    Thanks Ryan!

I’ve made lots of progress. Just not financially. Too busy working in the shop, rather than on the shop… 🙂

Nice work Han 😉 .. U always put out slick A work bro!!! I would love to try out that 2020 clear, but I am afraid I would not get to buff it soon enough and it would be like concrete.. Barry has even suggested it may not be good for my way of life around here
With my ever expanding family and time constraints, sometimes things will set for some time before I buff them, especially if its an overall 😛

    July 29, 2009 at 7:04 pm #15035

    Thanks BK!

I hear ya. The 2020 is great for collision stuff. But any of the clears work great for any job, really.
For me, the MS is the best all-around clear.

well i have been using the 2020 on stuff here but never on the final clear session that has to be buffed out….until now. i just didi a bike that was just a 1 color job and it looked so good with the 2020 clear i just had the kid here 1000 then 1500 it as ususal then go right to buff. let me tell you that don’t work with that clear. 1500 finishing film scratches comes right out of the universal and ms clear. now i did the same thing on another bike yesterday but went to 3000 trizact. 2020 buffed right out no problem and it had been sitting for a good 2 weeks here with super high humidity. i am really liking the 2020 more and more because its a bit harder, doesn’t scratch anywhere near as easy and looks every bit as good as univeral clear. only key is you gotta goto 3000 with it.

Thats good to know Jim :cheer: That gets me one step closer to buying a gallon kit now

    July 30, 2009 at 7:10 pm #15058

it can’t be my imagination, but the MS seems just a tad harder than the universal (not much).
Getting it swirl free is very easy unlike the universal… Long term durability with these clears
are proven, so i feel confident using them. I hope the 2020 is as durable.

BK and Jim, you guys HAVE to get this wool pad. And a foam backing plate.

Looking at my supplies/materials, some of the best products wont be found on shelves
or even easily found on line. And is practically unknown…
