I recently painted a Sunbeam with PPG and I got a good amount of Fish eyes in a couple of panels. So the next day I clean out my booth and made sure I clean the panel more thoroughly. Shop a couple of parts in BC/CC and everything has been fine. Now today I shot a couple of Hoods with SW and they fish eyed about the same as the sunbeam. I’m only getting fish eyes in Single Stage paints, Can anyone explain whats going on :teach ?
May 2, 2014 at 6:39 pm #46543Clean the fish eye areas pretty well, sand them down as best as possible… use a waterborne primer-sealer next (this can be top coated easily). Use a non-chemical cleaner so it does not react to the lacquer. You should be OK to paint after that.
