i never understood why people want a flat finish but sherwin has a flattener for single stage paints. #da668 dimension line, but its in the near 200 dollar range. for that money id go with a flat clear. i guess you can wet sand with 1500 grit and not have to worry about polishing lol to keep it really flat.

with flat paint you get what you spray. no correcting flaws without respraying

The booth and you have to be hospital clean. You have to shave (everything)
and spray butt-naked too; it’s the rule.

I got sick of my flat paint real quick. However from my experience, Hot Rod Flatz didn’t pick up too much dirt, I have maybe two specks on the entire car, and the car was sprayed in a garage with only a swept floor.

Am new to the flat paints..Think this is my 3dr…what would happen if I nibbed a small area with 2000-3000 grit and buffed ?..or can this not be done…One thing I do on the decent black jobs that the customer doesnt want to spend the money to clear or color sand, I always tell them that
there car will pick up minimal dust and peel..On the flat Im doing now I told the customer the same..And he seems to be cool about it…Ive always found that communication is sooo important between u and the customer..

Any area you buff will become glossy.. Have done many flat paint jobs over the years just have to be good about keeping things clean. If you dont have a decent booth I wouldnt do it..

yup, no denibbing, buffing or waxing. once its sprayed thats it. you got what you got. good thing though is that nibs aren’t as noticable as in a gloss finish but they will still be there if you look.
