Spraying Onyx solid colors always seem to come out gritty and dirty.
    Using a Tekna 1.4 or a GTI 1.5.
HB020 or HB040 does not seem to make a difference.
    Anyone have any tricks?

from what i saw when a paint rep was spraying waterborne it needs to be wet, to the point where it looks horrible? then when it dries it then comes to life
but then he was using a spray gun that begins with the letter i with the orange cap i cant call the name cause my post may be deleted.
dont know what pressure he was spraying with
you may be spraying a little too dry?

A few thoughts, are you using 125 micron filters? You might try adding more waterborne reducer, lower your pressure a bit,and put it on a little wetter. Not all waterbornes are the same but this might help.Has it been hot and dry where you are?A 1.5 has helped in my tekna when its over 80F

Already using 125 filters and spraying at about 16 psi.
I will try a little extra reducer.

Jayson has given some great advice. Just one thing to note, RM recommends the 200 micron filter for their waterborne, iirc.

When they introduced Onyx to us our rep recomended reducing solids 100%. If you’re in a dry low humidity area you could try HB004.

Have your rep get you a set of hb005 and hb050 and reduce at 80%

Is that to slow it down so it flows?
