I have HS-UV clear 923-109, 929-93 normal hardener, and 352-91 normal reducer. I’m spraying in 85+ degree weather and I am curious if I can get away with spraying in direct sun. I shot a small test part and aside from a few dust nibs it came out ok (gotta do with what you have), but that was small enough that I could get in the shade with it. Thanks.

thats my fav. clear but I’ve never had to spray it in direct sunlight. If its a small part you should be alright, large panels may give you trouble.

I would check the temp of the panel while its in the sun. Its gonna be one hot piece. I think you will have problems trapping solvents. at 85 degrees outside that panel can get well over 140. fine for baking the clear but not too good for spraying it

good point ding, it’s 1030 am here, and the marine blue base coat is already too hot to hold my hand on for more than about 5 seconds. I will be waiting until I can get this thing in the shade.

the part is 16′ long and 36″ wide, so I would consider that to be a big panel. :lol1

I agree with Ding you will def. have some problems trapping solvents if you spray on a panel that hot. That clear is the Sh@t though! I love it!

Never used that clear but I would not recommend spraying in the sun in warm weather. Like Ding said metal temp can get pretty hot.

If you absolutely have to spray outside best do it earlier in the morning before the sun gets too hot, then it can sit in the hot sun later in the day and bake without a lot to worry about

Shooting in the morning is a no-go, South Florida this time of year is way too humid. I’m going to have shade on it in about 3 hours, will squirt it and report back here tonight.

Well, I think it came out ok. My garage is full of tools, 4 wheelers, boat rigging, and engine parts, so I’m stuck in the driveway.

I got a few dust nibs and a gnat or 2 in it, but nothing that will not disappear with a little cut n buff action. This is what she looked like with the paint dry to the touch.

I also must say I am very impressed by this glasurit. It is the only automotive clear that I have used that flows out and locks in like AWLGRIP. It is way more forgiving than AwfulGrip also… 😀

Looks nice. Good to hear it worked out for ya.

So how about the dampness outside over the night? Will it hurt the still “green” clear or am I ok now?
