Hi guys,
I’m from the UK, have 15 years or so experience playing around with cars, started as a bit of fun working on friends bikes, buying cheap cars, fixing them up and selling them on to what I’m doing now, full bodywork, resprays, engine rebuilds and detialing. The trouble is working from your back yard or garage has its limitations however good the equipment is that you have. I’ve never been trained, all I know is what I have learnt over the years, and thats why I’m here. I’m hoping to learn the tricks of the trade and the right or wrong way to go about things. All help and advice will be much appreciated on everything, no doubt I’ll be asking a lot!
I’m also on the hunt for a new gun for base and clearcoat. So far all I’ve managed I managed to get hold of to test out is an Iwata Supernova for a few days, and it is by far the best gun I’ve used hands down, was amazing and makes everything soo much easier and quicker. Only the price, £350 makes it out of my budget.
I do a lot of work for the MR2 Owners club here in the Uk and have two big projects on the go, one is my own MR2 MK2 V6 conversion and the other is a members car with bodywork and welding issues to sort out. I’ll get the ball rolling on them and relevant project threads up with photos soon as possible.
Best wishes and thanks for having me,
Philly
February 1, 2011 at 12:59 am #27904Hi there, from another UK member. :welc
I use the Iwata Supernova for clear, and in my opinion it’s worth every penny 😉 But if your budget is tight look at the previous model W400. They are still a cracking gun, and can be found second hand on ebay quite cheaply.

I’ll go photo crazy don’t worry
Thanks again for the welcome.
