i spray dupont premier and i’m stuck with a 2011 camaro, paint code 708s,senergy green.does anybody know any paint line or tinting tricks for this color.i’m way to yellow.have tried to tint a few spray out cards, but this color is crazy.i’m so busy with all the cars, that i’m trying to tint and keep up production.if u have had dealings with this color, please help me.thanks
Hi Jason, Color matches arent Dupont’s strong point, I have used plenty of Chromabase and Premiere in the past. Im not sure if Synergy Green is a Tri stage in Premiere or not, If it is try and get your ground coat as close as possible and do a let down panel to determine how many coats of pearl it will take to get the desired effect. Give yourself plenty of room to blend it out and you should be fine, Heres a video of Jimmo doing that color…
AnonymousMarch 28, 2013 at 8:20 pm #42463I’ve never had to match it before, I’ve only used it in BASF where it came up as a tricoat. I’ve been told other lines it comes up as regular two stage formula. I guess if you have that option it would probably be a bit easier to tint. I don’t recall doing any production work with this color, just parts and completes. Don’t think i can offer much.
March 28, 2013 at 10:18 pm #42467dupont can be tough, this wont help you very much but I have done that color 3-4 times in sikkens autowave and it matches. In sikkens its not a tristage and standard matches very well.
maybe try to leave some of the yellow toner,or the one with a yellow flip,or add more of a toner with violet to kill the yellow.stay within the formula for tinting 😉March 28, 2013 at 11:21 pm #42468I was told that color is a special factory color with crushed glass in it and to order the paint from the dealer. dupont rep has told me they can not match that color.
March 29, 2013 at 3:11 am #42473What about having it scanned with a profit camera or what ever color scanning system your jobber uses? If it is sometimes availble in 2stage it might scan.

That sounds…um yeah…
Jayson, when I was at GM, we had to do that colour about 18 months ago. I don’t recall any option as straight base/clear, only 3 stage…and it wasn’t great. There were 3 stage field formulas as well. Do they still have a 3 stage alternate? Sounds like they have it figured out as normal base/clear though.
March 29, 2013 at 4:31 am #42481standard variant was base clear, been about 6-8 months since I had to spray it.I will look again whe I go back to work, but I don’t recall a 3 stage field variant,we were not on the new software at that time either.
ATT. SMOOTH I believe when this color is sprayed as a 3 stage it is a candy coat rather than a pearl overlay. So the top coat (green candy) is just as or more important than the silver base coat. But I believe most companies have a zoorilic formula that allows it to be sprayed as a 2 stage.
March 29, 2013 at 6:21 am #42491I just did this color (in ppg) i had the same problem, sprayed 4 cards, 2 bariants of the solvent, & 2 variants of the enviro, neither were a close match not even blendable. I then found a tri coat in our “chose” type of paint options, met or tri.. Which when i looked it up at first it only listed as a 2 coat. Apperantly this is a problem across the brands. Except sikkens :clappy

I could make a list of problem colours from DuPont & PPG that were amazing matches in Autowave. Best system for colour matches I’ve used.
