What brand of paint are you using? Water or solvent? What gun and tip size are you using?

i dont no the brand its from our local paint shop we just phone them with the colour code off the veichle and they deliver the paint to us i dont have a scheme im only a small 1 man band, im using solvent base,
im using a devilbiss gti for base with a 1.2 tip and another gti for clear same size tip

Try a 1.3 fluid tip and cap.You typically need a larger droplet size for better layout. Also make sure your using the right reducer speed for your temp /airflow and environmental humidity.

Are you using the 110 or 115 aircap? A 1.2 may be a little to small for solvent. You want the droplet size to be a little bigger especially with metallics. That way it has a little time to do its thing before it dries.

How does it feel when you tack it off?

i cant remember what cap it is but it did feal a little rough when i tacked it almmost as if the metalic pieces didnt settle on the dust coat

Yep ya need to be wetter.Try a slower reducer until you get a new cap set.

it has been verry hot here today and im only in an old barn, that might not help,
i have just moved to a slow thinners insted of fast but i think its my technique i usually start with a dust coat then a few wet till i achieve coverage with most of the silvers i have done this works fine and other colours heres a few pics of the shogun i finished this morning it looks fine i painted the rear quater door and front wing and the skirts,
ill put up some pics of the ka tomorra when i go back up the yard,
