Figured I post this up for bondo since we are working on exactly the same car.

This is the accord I started working on a few days back. Previously I painted the passenger fender, bumper and front underbody spoiler. He wanted to get the hood painted (rock chipped and dull) and opposite fender blended. He also asked to get the small amount of cancer fixed on the roof. I know I should have taken down the hood and roof to metal, but sorry it just wasn’t happening for the price. Enjoy the pictures and don’t mind my crappy tape job. :p

good job nex, looks great. BTW i usually fill the stone chips instead of sanding them out, that way you are not risking low spots/ripples.

Hey.. if it won’t shrink, I am all for it! hehe. =)

    Great job Nex.

There is always room for improvement, but honestly, for someone who isn’t a professional you are doing fantastic.

As far as the stone chips go, you did the right thing. Often, when you sand/grind them down you find a little corrosion in there, so filling them doesn’t really work in the long run. Only suggestion I have with that, though, is to feather them out a little more, or strip the whole hood.

That’s for sure! I wish I could spray in a booth so I know if most of my problems are user or environment related.

Nice looking work. If you don’t mind could you take some more pics of your booth setup? Also what air compressor and Gun do you use?

Definitely nice work. Better than I’m doing by far :rock

The one panel at a time stuff is mind bottling, but I understand with that little garage.

    Very nice work, indeed!
    Base coat/clear coat?
Looks like a metallic with some pearl in it.
Taking chances by doing each panel separately as you are showing in tese images but you seem to be pulling it off.
Have you seen any difference between the hood and right fender, and the right fender and door vis-a-vis shading, color, pearl reflection, etc. since you finished the job?
    Please let us know.

Thanks again for taking the time in posting and showing us your work.

PS: That’s a hell of a lawn! I wish I could get mine looking like that in Maine. 🙂

Yes this is a bc/cc job. I take the chance by panel painting but it is my only option. Overall the paint all matches great, when you are able to blend it in, then you can’t tell the difference. i didn’t blend the opposite fender, but the fender was painted previously from me.
