Funny, I looked at parts supply before I bought mine and they’re readily available here. Maybe just a support decision by Iwata US?
Mine gets daily use and cup is as good as new. What kind of issues are you having with it?
I paid $107 for it brand new w/ free shipping. When it pukes I’m not spending coin on a rebuild kit and new plastic or metal cup when I can just go buy a replacement or better gun. I prefer metal cups opposed to plastic cups with screw-on lids. A threaded plastic lid is not as convenient to maintain. Can you clean it thoroughly after each use? Yes. Is it as easy and fast to clean as a better designed metal cup and lid? No. The gun paid for itself.
A threaded plastic lid is not as convenient to maintain. Yes, agree on this. Could be better and I prefer metal cups, too.
Martin, one of today’s efforts with the AZ3 HTE2. Used Nason 496-00 Clear on this one which is brand new VW Tiguan due for delivery to the buyer tomorrow so looking for match to factory peel:

I would buy that gun in an instant and I think I will now that I know about this company. I would definetly trust it. I have never had a bad experience with chineese guns. I used to have a harbor freight gun that came in the 2 peice kit and I sprayed some pretty flawless paintjobs with it with no issue, so I think im gonna buy one right now. Thanks for sharing.

The gun there talking about is not made in china it’s an airgunsa part of the anest iwata group with this particular model made in Italy.
:readthis:Maybe china guns are ok..
But when I add the cost of my time/labor to get matching factory finish, cut&buff, unpredictable results etc.. I’d rather spend the same amount of money for Air Gunsa/Iwata than something that was a copy..If they were readily available here.. and test it feel it.. without investment for the testing.. maybe then if everything was on the positive side.. maybe then I would get one..
The other day I demoed a PRI Devilbiss and Sata 4000 RP.. when I picked up the Sata.. ahh.. instant love.. sprays amazing.. even for a novice like me I layed perfect glass finish 🙂
This was the turning point to go with Brands and not china.. Although Italco is a Italian Brand.. got sold to the Chinese they copied the satas..
again.. If they are readily available and i can test them.. ok maybe I will get one..
I am not a pro.. I am a software programmer and a photographer.. I do this for hobby.. and I was always fascinated with car refinishing..
build qualty of the AirGunza is much better than the devilbiss finishline 5 ,the older finishline 3 can be retrofitted with a GTI 110 cap and is a better built gun
the HTE is actualy AirGunsa’s top gun and although Iwata promote it as a primer surfacer gun it lays clear as well as any top end gun ,probably too good for the price and comparable with some of Iwatas own top end guns hence why Iwata play it down as a primer surfacer gun 😉
BTW it is also available with an uprated “S” cap for even better results
Got one of the “high quality” China guns Visual inspection quality is excellent! It’s an Italco mini H-951 It’s an absolute perfect copy of Devilbiss SRIPRO (But) I bought a SRIPRO 1.2 tip and needle to replace what it has 0.8 but it doesn’t fit threads on the nozzle are a different size Auarita says they have a 1.2 tip I’m waiting for reply Haven’t gotten a chance to spray paint with it yet. You can see on my Youtube video 1948 Anglia and Garage
I was originally looking to buy an Iwata gun but the prices (for a hobbyist like me) are insane, even for used. The cheaper model Air Gunsa don’t even have stainless steel needle and nozzle. The HTE model does, though,I think, Iwata was sure nice to me I e-mailed them saying I was thinking about buying one of their guns (an LPH 400)They sent me stickers and key chains. If I had the money I would buy Iwata
Anyone saying Italco Auarita can be sued for copying Sata and Devilbiss Just go to your local grocery. How many cheaper copies of Kraft macaroni and cheese, or Kellogg’s frosted flakes are on the shelves? I will admit writing DeBaybys on the air cap is rubbing it in a little! Spray guns only have 3 moving parts there all made by CNC machines that can spit them out 24-7 There’s no reason they should cost $600.
September 19, 2013 at 3:03 am #44531I find it kind of funny to see the words high quality and china in the same sentence. I personally prefer SATA myself. I own a Smart Finex mini gun and I’m not sure if its made in China but the quality seems to be on par with them. I also do own a Titan 2.2 gun, that I bought to shoot some Gelcoat, for $30. I love my SATAs but I would live to know why they cost so much more now than a few years back.
The way I see it I could get good results out of a cheep gun but I doubt a DIYer would be able to.Yeah… that is my thought also.. I know that precision machining is used in producing the ultimate spray gun.. But its not like it will paint by it self.. you still have the human factor to account for..
Sata is an old company with tradition but that does not mean that they can overprice the guns..
And getting a mainstream middle class gun and comparing to the ultra high end.. what would the difference be? Same painter same experience, same product, 2 guns??The reason I did not get the Italco 4000 series gun is because I had limited budget for a gun.. I got myself a Iwata AZ3HTE2 and I love it.. I was not sure if the Italco would be a good choice but if they give me normal freight charges I would still get one just to test and see how it goes..
Italco is a mfg that has been around 30 yrs. They moved their production in China.. but that does not mean that the quality is sh*t.. 80% of the stuff are made in China.. it depends on who controls the quality..
September 20, 2013 at 2:34 am #44541My main concern is how well will the gun hold up over time. I know when I pick up my SATA it’s going to work 99% of the time. When I pick up my Finex most of the time it doesn’t. I tried an Iwata a few months ago and it sprayed excellent. My problem is that it looked a lot like my Sharpe inside. Years back I did use a Star gun that looked like a SATA jet90 and it sprayed just as well. I wouldn’t mind trying one of them again.
