AnonymousJune 7, 2008 at 1:57 am #10553I’ve been looking for an older type …. not much choice older or youger …nuttin in the middle is working …. maybe female…gotta be a cheap reliable work force out there some where … maybe other countries??/
June 7, 2008 at 7:34 pm #10573I have something to add to this! I work as a painter/manager and it is next to impossible to find employees. The worst seem to be bodymen age 40-50. I have never seen people that are so hell bent on doing things the wrong way and trying to convince others that it’s right.I believe one of the reasons that nobody gets into this field is most young people are lazy and don’t want to have to work hard for a living. The money is there if you are good and want to work. Case in point I am already over 40k this year.
June 8, 2008 at 3:52 pm #10578Just because a few people really make good money in the industry doesn’t mean there is the potential for everyone. Look at the average pay per state. In my opinion the averages really suck. If I were young I would look at this and think why would I want to make that in 10 years. Also how many people have really good benefits in this industry, everywhere I have been there was little to no benefits.
AnonymousJune 9, 2008 at 3:18 pm #10594You are right there are bad and good to every industry but there is good money. There are no benifits but if your smart when your young you invest…….something I never did, hind sight.
There are now places that you can hire workers from other countries. I am thinking about it as a manager but working in a dealership makes it difficult…….Workers have to be sponsered and I for one do not want to take on that responsibility
Oh well life goes on and hope dies last
Have an awesome dayJune 9, 2008 at 7:12 pm #10595I have gotten out of the trade for short periods of time but always end up back. Something about the end product is satisfying in a way that is hard to explain. I still believe the day will come when there won’t be that many of us left and they will have to pay the piper.
