I recently purchased a Sata 4000 b RP. Since then I have read some people say they don’t have a prob with metallic paints and other saying they don’t use their RP for colors at all just clears because it has problems with some metallics.

So am I here to try to get the full story….

This is my only gun right now besides a set of Iron Force by Campbell Hausfeld, and am unsure of the quality of them so I figured I will prob just spray primer out of them.

:clappy I own 2 Sata 4000 RP digitals. They are all I use each day everyday. I love them. One is a 1.2 the other is a 1.3 I shoot Spies-Hecker Hi-Tec 480 water and they perform great! I use my old trusty 2000 series RP for clear.

Good, I hope I picked a gun that will suit me well. It was a toss up for me rather to get the HVLP or the Rp version of the 4000.

Since this is going to be my all around gun for a little while, at least turn some profit to pay for my investments so far.

I will be using for everything but primer.

Do you have any issues with metallic/pearls water or solvents?

    Also I have the 1.2 cap/needle.

I’ve used my 4000RP (1.3) for everything including primer. It’s been good but not 3000RP great with clear. Truth be told I’m in love with the 3000RP for clear, it can do no wrong.

Congrats on you new gun I’m sure you’ll like it.

Its a little better with a 1.4 speed wise, but for big jobs the 3000 is faster.Sadly I’m stuck digging the first gen rp the best :wak The 3000rp is still slower than a jet 90,it still does a great job with superior :cheers
