I don’t know what your circumstances are or what kind of materials you use, but I know as a favor to a friend, I wouldn’t touch it for less than 2500.

im goin to use PPG global with the 8150 clear and i talked to my PPG rep he said he would help me out with the paint and clear so i would only have to pay half of there cost so that will help out i might hit him up first for like 4000 cause i have to pay a bodyman to fix the dents and help me tear it down and i also have to strip the hood and cal screen and the rest is prime dents and scuff and shoot

figure out how much time you think you will have into it and what you want to charge per hour and go with that. then just tell him he pays for materials and whatever the body guy charges. that way you dont get screwed if materials or the other guys labor costs more than you anticipated

When I do ‘extra’ work or favour work I get them to buy as much materials as possible. 1) Because they then realise the cost of materials! and 2) Because the final bill doesn’t look so bad.

As has already been said, work out how long its going to take you x per hour or per day and go from there.

I give ball park figure if I am asked for one otherwise I tell them its my labour rate x hours + materials.
