take em apart and give em a bang with the hammer when laid on a vice. the paint will crack up and fall off,

As above – in the past I’ve chipped the bulk off with a hammer, then finished with a grinder if needed.

Nowadays I mask them up wherever I can.

i have aslo chipped off with hammer

but after a few hundred blows the old wrist get’s blooming sore.

So i found another way that works

Vice grips mole grips not sure what the U.S. chaps will call them lol.

Just set them so they are not too tight on the stand and twist and you will be amazed at how easy the paint comes off.

Not to tigh you really just want to be gripping the paint and not right though to the stand.

Hard to explain but it works

if i get a min i will take some pics
