Just out of curiousity, how many of you folks keep up with industry legislation and association objectives. I’m especially interested in how things work in Canada, and other parts of the world compared to the U.S..
AnonymousJune 4, 2008 at 6:15 pm #10518I keep up with it somewhat, Up in Canada the only thing on the minds of shop owners these days is the VOC legislation, ie. switch to waterborne. I tend to think Canada operates the same as the USA, Usually things I read about on these forums start in the USA and eventually find their way up here. I more referring to the tricks insurance company’s create with that, but I’m sure its true in many ways.
The one thing I’ve wondered is why the labor rates are so much higher in Canada, My theory is less shops to cut throat each other but who knows. Their used to be associations in my area but I don’t know if they exist anymore. All the shop would say lets stand together against the insurance companies but it would never happen.
