Inner cup seal sata 3000 rp

Hi all i had a leaking gun and was coming out of where the paint enters gun body via the pot so i have changed the inner cup seal and its still leaking ! Im pretty sure seal is located correct but im royally p1ssed off now as i bought a new lid for the pot and was hoping to use the gun again ! If i remove the pot and wrap some plumbers tape around the metal part that screws into gun body it doesnt leak ? Any ideas please ?
Also bought a brand new devillbiss gti pro clear and the pot lid is terrible on that too ! Seems you have to over-tighten the lid or that drips down the side
