Installing a used floor in a 68 chevelle

I helped a friend out by doing this for him,he had a steering column that I needed for my chevelle and he offered it to me and cash for helping him.Well you know how buddy deals work out.. :wak I didn’t take any pics of the car but he has put new quarters on it,now he is going to put it on the rotisserie.The used floor came out of a 70 chevelle.I’ll even add a picture of my 72 chevelle that is patiently waiting to be finished :rofl [IMG]http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss241/jaysonm1969/212.jpg[/IMG]

How’d he manage to find a rust free donor floor?
He did all the hard work,trimming the donor floor and taking out the old floor.All I did was sand blast the braces,put a coat of zero rust on the braces and the bottom of the floor,line it up and weld it in.I still had about 25hrs in it by the time I ground all the welds.It is a shame they cut the floor a couple of inches shy of the factory seam by the back seat,I had to butt weld it.I don’t know how he does it but he has always been able to sniff out good parts for a good price. :cens
Nice job but why not just get a new a/m one.. we just did the floors in my 69 camero and the after market floor was great!!!
You are absolutely correct it would have been easier but my friend is cheap :wak ,and he couldn’t afford a new floor.I am no stranger to rebuilding old cars and most of the repro parts are pretty good.But on the other hand the 69 dynacorn camaro body I did for a customer last year was a pos.

Awesome job, I’ve never seen anyone use a donor floor before. I can’t believe you found one in good condition! Nevertheless good job! :cheer:
