im debating on purchasing the Iwata LPH400 with the orange cap, so im looking for some opinions about it and comments about how it handles the metallics compared to the other guns.

i also had a question about a website named Spray Guns Direct, and its if they are a legit site and trust worthy as they are not in the USA? or if anyone has purchased from them

    Thanks

An I get it in with the same wk I order. I’m not sue on the iwata your looking to get. But I use the iwata w400 for base and that’s a great gun

O ok, i was windering because their prices on somethings are really low so wasnt sure if it was safe, or if would be a lot for shipping since im in the USA.

i heard and read alot of good things about all the iwata’s, im looking something for base, and hear the LVX is great

I use Spraygunsdirect as I live half an hour away so usually go to their store if I need something.

The prices may seem low if you are looking at the prices without VAT added to them, currently 20% in the UK.

As for the Iwata I cant comment as Ive never used one.

I know this my sound funny but don’t take it the wrong way, the gun I got was £250 in English pound, and with the pound so I think it works out round $500 in the USA, when I’ve got an account they do give you trade and discount . What set up you looking to get. And also what gun and set up you got for clear 🙂

well i know, its a different price in US dollar, but someof the things are cheaper than if to buy them here or other sites, but i dont understand the trade etc. and the lph400 with orange cap is what im looking to maybe getting but i dont think they carry it but found it on another site for aroung $500, and for my clear i use my Sata 4000rp with 1.3

I use a lph 400 everyday at work everyday mainly with the orange cap. I have all three. I tried out the supernova but stayed with the lph cause it does everything I need it to. I use the w400lv4 for clear cause the lph is just painfully slow to me.

I’ve got several Lph-400’s and love them all!!! The orange cap does seem like it atomizes metallics a lot better then the standard. My last couple I bought from Keystone, saved a bunch over everywhere else I looked, also if you use pps or another cup system you can order just the gun without a cup and save a little.

is there a big difference between the purple and orange? and thats a big reason why im looking at the orange for the metallics, i dont use the best paint out there yet, so getting the color to not blotch is a pain, so hoping that will make it easier.

the cheapest i found it so far is for around $500 and it comes with the 1000ml cup, and i still use the aluminum cups unfortunetly and the cup liners, ive been looking into switching to a cup system, but not sure if i can afford it yet, ill have to check some prices on the different brands and see which one is the best. the new devilbiss system looks pretty simple but everyone seems to side with the 3M pps system.

The tekna works great for waterborne or solvent,I also like a sata rp for solvent base.

Thanks, I use a nr3000 for auto base plus. I have tried my 4000 rp and it does ok. It uses a lot of material though so I just stick with the hvlp.

That’s interesting but I found no difference in material usage.I used a 3000hvlp for waterbone base for 2 years then switched to a tekna with the compliant cap,I found material consumption to be comparable or less with the tekna.Years ago I used a gti with a 1.4 for autobase, autobase plus, polybase, then switched to a first gen rp and material consumption was the same.I think the reason is you need more air pressure with an hvlp vs an rp to get the same atomization you in turn use more product.I’m not doubting you that’s just what I have found. Most compliant guns are the same as hvlps for transfer efficiency now IMO.
